I am a graduate of the College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and I have done extensive graduate work in Music Education at Western Michigan University and Michigan State University including music theory, history and conducting.

After teaching high school choir at Talawanda High School (my alma mater!) in Oxford, Ohio, I taught in the Wyoming Public School system as a band director in 7 different schools.  Including my nine years teaching at Freedom (2000-2009), my years at Talawanda and Wyoming, and as Libertas’ Beginning Band Instructor, I have taught music for 16 years.  For many years I kept a private flute studio in my home in Ohio and Michigan.

In addition to my instrumental teaching I have been a church choir director.  I currently assist the choir director at Grace Community Church in Hudsonville.
